How to find the right LEGO® part number

Every LEGO piece has a unique number. Here is where to find it and how to order exactly the right part with it.

Where is the number?

Many LEGO parts have a tiny number moulded into them — usually on the underside or inside a stud. That is the design ID (e.g. 3001 for the classic 2×4 brick). Cannot find it on the part itself? Look up your set's building instructions and trace the part via the parts list at the back.

Design ID vs. element ID

Mind the difference: the design ID describes the shape (3001 = 2×4 brick), while the element ID describes shape and colour together (e.g. 300121 = red 2×4 brick). In our shop you search by design ID and pick the colour separately — so you never need to memorise long element numbers.

Order it directly

Type the number into the search bar at the top, pick the colour and condition (New or Used) and add it to your cart. Not sure of the number? Search by name instead — for example "plate 1x2" — and recognise the part from the photo.
